Buyer–Seller Meet , 11–13 December 2010 Contact Mr S Murali Krishna Apart from the academic rigour and the intellectual exchanges pertaining to the science and techniques of Ayurveda, this ancient system of medicine also requires a commercial boost to make it mainstream and accepted the world over. This is the foremost objective of Pharmexcil, (Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The WAC, nurturing a similar vision, has partnered with Pharmexcil to open up and bring the international market right at the door steps of the Indian AYUSH industry. As part of the 4th WAC, Pharmexcil – in association with the Department of AYUSH (Government of India) and Vijnana Bharati – is organizing a global ‘Buyer–Seller Meet’, from 11 to 13 December 2010 at Bengaluru. This 3-day meet, aims to promote Indian systems of medicine; establish the scientific validity of Ayurveda to global food and drug authorities; facilitate business by inviting importers, traders and drug regulators from all important regions of the world and consider possibilities of creating a harmonized system of regulatory requirements for Indian systems of medicine products. Besides organizing exclusive interactive sessions with drug regulatory agencies and health ministries, this Buyer–Seller Meet will facilitate trade as well. Pharmexcil and 4th WAC invite potential importers, traders, food and drug regulators, associations, and consultants dealing with Ayurvedic and herbal products to participate in this Meet and interact with the Indian industry. Products in focus Ayurveda and herbal value-added products, powders and extracts, Ayurvedic and herbal formulations, dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, functional foods and botanical drugs developed for specific world markets.
